About
Grief, confusion, loss, unprocessed pain and emotionally difficult life experiences can be a journey to process. Not to mention downright terrifying to navigate alone. For many people, there aren’t always opportunities to slow down, pause and inquire within. Many have shared a perspective of endurance sustaining them in the short term but eventually the difficult feelings metastasized. Some of our most tender feelings and emotions can be scary to face but meeting them with support, care and intervention, may be life changing.
Depending on our backgrounds, family narratives, situational environments, cultural and racial location and even gender, one may not been encouraged to fully step into their full experience or encouraged to meet their pain. One may find themself living a life that has been created based upon expectations but somehow did not include all of who they are. Abandoning parts of Self is strongly enforced within our capitalistic society, sometimes resulting in distress, disease and even disorders. When not in connection to the whole Self, may begin the call of longing or somatic cues, pulling attention to deeper inquiry and care. This is when feelings are no longer possible to push aside. This may show up as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, rage, fatigue, chronic health disorders and even physical pain.
Have you been feeling the call to explore you inner world more deeply? Have you been wanting to meet yourself in a way that feel nurturing and kind to understand yourself, life choices and life experiences more closely? If any of this sound like what you’ve been navigating or feeling called to, I’m glad that you’ve made your way to my site.
I hold a holistic approach where we may begin to explore all the various facets impacting your overall lived experience. This may look like exploring internal landscapes, feelings, desires, goals, larger systems impacting wellbeing, intergenerational narratives, integrated beliefs for deeper understanding, integration and healing.
My journey in psychotherapy and body work began with my own evolutionary healing path. I hold experiential life wisdom as a survivor as well a clinical training in navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, anger, grief processing, loss & death processing, internalized oppression, Women’s life transitions, depth exploration and soul journey work. Inspired by nature, ancient wisdom traditions, dance and spirituality, I hold a Masters degree in integral counseling from the California Institute of Integral Studies, Associate Marriage Family Therapy provisional licensure #149131, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Shamanic Practice training through the sacred Stream Foundation, Ministry certification, equine mindfulness certificate through EAL academy and Comprehensive Pilates Certification through ITT Pilates in 2010 and mat pilates in 2007.
I hold an integral approach to my work in psychotherapy. Drawing upon Transpersonal, spiritual practices, mindfulness, somatic principles gained through my lifelong training in body work and clinical intervention acquired through academic training. I value a balanced approach between meeting within the here and now, allowing the client to guide the session for where they feel called to go. I believe there is an innate wisdom within all beings and part of the work is inviting that wisdom to come forth within the session, while simultaneously reflecting strengths and growth edges.
I am currently working under provisional licensure (AMFT), towards Marriage Family Therapy Licensure (LMFT), completing my associateship hours. I completed my practicum hours through a hospice and palliative care clinic in the bay area, specifically concentrating on bereavement, loss and grief processing.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside in nature with my 14 year old son and 11 year old dog, moving my body, equine engagement, community involvement, resourcing food as medicine and spiritual practice.
Please feel free to book an initial consultation with me to ask any questions you may have and share with some of what you’ve been navigating. I look forward to speaking with you.
